Common questions

Is SplitBrowse free?

You can try it free from the Microsoft Store. If it earns a place on your screen, buying it (about $2 in the US; prices vary by region) supports its development.

What do I need to run it?

Windows 10 version 1809 or later, or Windows 11. SplitBrowse displays pages with Microsoft Edge WebView2, which comes with Windows 11 and is kept up to date on Windows 10 by Windows Update.

How do I sign in to the same site with two accounts?

Open the site, then press Ctrl+Shift+\ to split right on your next profile and sign in there with the other account. Each profile has its own cookies and sign-ins, and its colour is drawn around its splits so you can tell them apart.

How many profiles can I have?

Up to five. Add, rename, recolour, reorder, clear or delete them from Manage profiles (Ctrl+Shift+M).

Is my data synced anywhere?

No. There is no account and no sync. Your profiles, history, bookmarks and sign-ins are stored on your PC. See the privacy policy for details.

How do I delete my browsing data?

Go to Settings › Clear browsing data and choose a profile. This removes that profile's sign-ins, cookies, history and saved tabs and leaves your other profiles as they are.

I closed a split by mistake. Can I get it back?

Yes. Ctrl+Shift+T reopens the last closed split or tab exactly where it was.
